Starry Night

Reminder: If you’ll see any wrong information about my post, please correct me so that I can change it.

Have you ever heard about Vincent Van Gogh? He was born on 1980 in Netherlands. This artist has a very unique way in making his artworks. All of his life he did nothing but to practice, to paint, to look for inspirations, new techniques, new models and more. All for the sake of his creation. Until the day when he met this guy, who challenge him in making paintings. Vincent failed in that match so he cut off part of his left ear as a sign of defeat and gave it to his prostitute friend.

Yes he is mad. No body appreciate his works. Ever since of his life, he had only sell one painting which is, The Red Vineyard, created in 1888. It is now on display in the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, Russia. He did everything, he went different places, he studied at different schools, but still nothing. Nobody likes his works.

On July 27, 1890, at the age of 37, after a fit of painting activity, his depression got worst. Van Gogh shot himself in the chest. He died two days later, with Theo his brother at his side, who reported his last words as “La tristesse durera toujours”, which means “The sadness will last forever”.

So sad right? If I was born during his time, I would definitely be his number fan! I love his works. I love his paintings. When it comes to colors on canvass, I like it better when it’s abstract.

Here are some of his works. And yeah, by the way, the song Vincent by Don McLean was dedicated to him. Please do have a look. The song explains everything about his life. Starry Night, which was said in the song was one of his famous paintings, the one in the thumbnail. This will only consume four minutes and 12 seconds of your time. Please do take a look on the famous Vincent Van Gogh creations.

And now I understand what you tried to say to me, how you suffered for your sanity, how you tried to set them free, perhaps they’ll listen now.

Vincent van Gogh’s mother threw away quite a number of his paintings during Vincent’s life and even after his death. But she would live long enough to see her son become a world famous painter.

Do you know anything about Vincent Van Gogh?
Do you appreciate his works?
