Painting is one of the most popular forms of art in Japan. Japanese paintings, which were heavily influenced by the style of Chinese painting, are exquisite and sometimes can be very complicated. In the Muromachi period (1338-1573), Chinese paintings were introduced in Japan, due to the influx of Chinese trade. Many Japanese noblemen started buying Chinese paintings to decorate your home and developed a taste for the Chinese style of painting. Because of this affinity for Chinese painting, many Japanese painters adopted this style to create masterpieces of fine that would appeal to Japanese tastes.


Japanese painters belonging to the Muromachi period reflected a deep sense of space and each picture represents a story .
